Warren Haynes continues to be one of the most lauded straight-ahead Rock lead guitarists performing today. But with this album, his superior vocals are also at the forefront. Haynes' bold and emotive delivery, shimmering with his smoky vibrato is not to be missed. The album features Ivan Neville on organ and background vocals, Ian McLagan on piano, Ruthie Foster on background vocals, George Porter Jr. on bass and Ron Holloway on saxophone. The album was recorded live in studio to capture all of the emotion, passion and spontaneity on two-inch tape with vintage tube microphones. Warren has outdone himself this time. The song selection is balanced beautifully. A great blend of fantastic tunes. Warren is a master of his craft! His phrasing and tonality are second to none. On A Real Lonely Night is beautifully arranged with a fantastic horn section. Hattiesburg Hustle is a great story with a score fitting the tune's feel perfectly. The River's Gonna Rise has a drum mix that is almost tribal in feeling and the stops with bass fills are artfully executed. Everyday Will Be Like A Holiday has almost a gospel feel. The vocals are sooooooooo soulful! The keyboards lay down the greatest palate for Warren's artistic fills.. Warren Haynes - Man In Motion Live..
