I got this album yesterday, and I have been unable to listen to anything else since. Tallest Man on Earth will undoubtedly be compared to Bob Dylan during his Freewheelin' days. While it's true that he resembles Bobby's rough voice and impeccable lyricism, there are stark differences between the two.
Tallest Man on Earth demonstrates an incredible amount of talent, both vocally and instrumentaly. His voice is definitely more pleasant than Dylan's (don't hurt me-Dylan is my favorite artist of all time), and his guitar playing is absolutely more intricate.
Now- on to the album:
There is not one song on this album that I don't adore. It is definitely in my top 5 for 2008. Favorites: I Won't be Found, The Gardener, The Blizzard Never Sees the Desert Sands, Pistol Dreams, The Sparrow and the Medicine. TMoE has an incredible ability to lyrically paint a world of open fields and blue skies. His lyrics spark a strange feeling of sadness and honesty. They are virtually perfect.
