For years, I had heard rumours about the greatness that is Steel Panther (formerly known as "Metal Skool"), but had yet to experience it. At last, the time has come, and I have nothing but love for this LP.

Sure, the LP cover looks like something right out of 1985, but don't let that fool you into thinking this would be of such timely ilk. Though the members of Steel Panther camp it up, the reality of what is underneath are four highly skilled musicians that know the glam/hard rock genre inside out... and they have a lot of fun with it. It takes serious talent to mock a genre while appearing genuine, not to mention their comedic handling of cliched glam rock lyrics. Even if you weren't a fan of 80's glam rock, the songs on this LP are as infectuous as their subject matter.

If 80's rock is a guilty pleasure for you, this LP would be a great addition to your collection. Even if you aren't or never were a fan of such music, the humour on this LP alone will be enough to sway you. Go on, have a listen to the track "Community Property" and try not to laugh. I dare you!
