Paul Slade was born the 27th May 1950 in Guildford Surrey He started playing the guitar at the age of 9 and when he was 13 he formed his first group called “The Ossolaters”. In 1964 he joined Guildford’s top group, “The Leeways” as Bass guitarist. He left school, (Park Barn), in 1965 and joined a Coventry based group, “The Ray King Soul Band” as Bass guitarist and backing singer. For the following two years he toured England playing on gigs with big names such as: Ike and Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Jimmy Cliff, Elton John, John Mayel and Jimmy Hendrix……
In 1971 whilst playing in Paris, France, he was offered a recording contract with C.B.S. He decided to move to Paris and recorded his first L.P. entitled “Life of a Man” a country, rock and Folk L.P. that put him on the road to a long international career.
