1984 psych and garage rock compilation LP on the Rhino label. featuring 1960's classics by the Electric Prunes, the Standells, the Leaves, the barbarians, the Seeds, Amboy Dukes, Music Machine.
A straightforward collection of garage-rock chart successes, including "Psychotic Reaction," "Dirty Water, " "Nobody but Me, " and "I Had Too Much to Dream Last Night."
Electric Prunes - I Had Too Much To Dream
Yes, those were special years. It was a time of great change, and conflict. And the music of those years is a reflection of what was happening in the world and in society. Too Much to Dream is an unforgettable part of that history.
Human Beinz - Nobody But Me
It's hard to imagine what the kids must have made of the Human Beinz' first album when it was released back in 1968. The band was riding high on the charts with their feedback-enhanced cover of the Isley Brothers' bold statement of dance prowess, "Nobody But Me".
Nobody But Me is more than a bit pretentious, but it's also better than you might expect, and it builds on its psychedelic ambitions with greater success than the majority of Nehru-clad Midwesterners of the era.
The Seeds - Pushin Too Hard
A garage standard if there ever was one.
Count Five - Psychotic Reaction
Standells - Dirty Water
