Motown is an American record company founded by Berry Gordy, Jr. in 1959 in Detroit, Michigan in the United States. The name, a portmanteau of motor and town, is also a nickname for Detroit. Motown played an important role in the racial integration of popular music by achieving a crossover success. In the 1960s, Motown and its subsidiaries were the most successful proponents of what came to be known as "The Motown Sound", a style of soul music with a distinct pop influence. An early precursor for the Motown sound is the 1954 song 'Daddy Rollin Stone' by Derek Martin.

Mary Wells - My Guy

What a beautiful voice and song! I love the lyrics, singing and presentation of all these great groups of that era! She is so appealing and memorable. Bless all the creative musicians and song writers of the 60's and 70s popular music. I believe their music will be appreciated and remembered for generations. The lyrics and music of Folk singers, Troubadours, Motown artists,

LITTLE STEVIE WONDER - Fingertips (live 60's)

There is a reason he is called Stevie WONDER. This video proves the WONDER Stevie was, is, and always will be.

Marvin Gaye - Stubborn Kind Of Fellow

Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell - You're All I Need - CINDERELLA

Great song written and produced by the great Marvin Gaye, along with The Bells. He helped this group get their first hit. Until then though they sand backup on countless Motown hits! Great song, great group, great, great producer Mr Marvin Gaye

This was the ultimate grind song in the seventies. Blue lights in the basement...
