Rashida was my first introduction to the music Jon Lucien. If it were possible to capture the essence of romance, beauty, unrequited love and longing on vinyl - This was/is it!
Mr. Lucien's style is a cool & laid back, & his singing is pure and from the heart. He overdubs layers of his rich baritone voice the way Marvin did, yet in his own distinct style, Kuenda & Esperanza is a wonderful example of this.
Every track on this LP is a treasure . . . my top three are "Love Everlasting", "Rashida" and "Would You Believe In Me"
Jon Lucien - Rashida
Probably why so many African American females are named Rashida :) which loosely translated means 'intelligent, rightly guided.' That is one great song and one great singer...
Jon Lucien - Would You Believe In Me
superior tune. It makes me realise how beautiful life is. When I die please god send me to the heaven where all the great musicians reside..
