"Um Um Um" has a political rap not unlike Gil Scott-Heron. ("Um Um Um" was also recorded by Carlos Santana and Buddy Miles on their LIVE album as "Freeform Funkafide Filth"). "The Journey" cowritten by but not featuring Pharoah Sanders, is a side-long extended workout.
