Sire Recs and Seymour Stein had signed Laid Back up on the reputation of "Sunshine Reggae" but soon found out that "White Horse" was hitting clubs. Next up was a 12", including a remix by Shep Pettibone, that helped launch the then-nascent 12" DJ / Dance vinyl format.
