Originally a Japan-only release, "Samurai is a piano-driven stormer which skillfully straddles the line between West London broken beat and house with a shuffling beat that constantly keeps you guessing, and great vocals highlighted by an electrifying breakdown. The track also gets a sneakily gorgeous vibe from the soaring keyboard arrangement that develops patiently over its twelve-plus epic minutes, winding its way through a series of changes that avoid sounding forced or indulgent. It's been getting play from the likes of Gilles Peterson, and should appeal to everyone from Bugz In The Attic fans to deep house heads, as well as open-minded dancefloors of any stripe. I've been playing out the white label to great reactions over the past few months. To give you an idea of just how good this track is, Danny Krivit actually declined to do an edit of it when offered the chance because he thought there was nothing he could do to improve on it!
