Background
Originally released in Canada in 1982,
'Postcard' was produced by Paul Gross who should need no introduction here on Glory Daze and Jack Richardson best known for his work with The Guess Who Aerosmith and fellow Canucks Harlequin.
Ford and his band released an album prior to this on Warner Brothers called 'Under The Influence' which I have not heard, but if it's anything like 'Postcard', I'd be interested in seeking out a copy.
The Songs
The sound here is more in the pop rock style, sort of a cross between Huey Lewis & The News, Dwayne Ford and Jim Foster's 'Powerlines' album. The opening cut 'Stay The Way' was a Canadian hit and it's not hard to hear why with it's memorable hook.
The rest of the material is more of the same and includes a cover of The Outsiders 60's classic 'Time Won't Let Me' which I don't think was necessary, but it''s not bad either.
In Summary
If you like the classic early 80's pop sound with plenty of sax and bouncy rhythms 'Postcard' is an album for you. Fun!
