This is one classy collection of hits. Whether you like funk, R&B, pop or the 70's there is something here for you. Vocalist/ producer/ songwriter/ percussionist and kalimba player, Maurice White, leads this classic group who's music spans several genres and three decades. Backed with an entire brass section- you just don't hear music as full bodied and well developed as this anymore. EW&F is one the world's most successful groups and has a permanent place in the history of popular music.
Some of the era's most needed, heeded messages ran deep and sweet atop Verdine White's bass grooves (front and center on "Getaway"), brother and leader Maurice's drum and percussion tracks honed over years with Chess Records' rhythm section Louis Satterfield's horn section scrambling through jazz-rock mazes every track (becoming a 80s rock stalwart backing Phil Collins),
and Phillip Bailey's high, clear falsetto on "After The Love Has Gone," the prom dance standard "Reasons," the soaring chorus of "September," and the elegant "Fantasy"
Earth, Wind & Fire - September
One of the best feel good songs of all time..
I am really glad the stars told Maurice to release this song.....With the band trying to find their place in music....they found their place in music history...without them...none of us would have the music we have today!!!
Let us all stand and applaud....the Three Powers of the Universe.....
EARTH WIND and ......FIRE
>
Earth, Wind & Fire - Getaway, live
amazing arrangement! . in this performance you still hear their trademark vocal sound... full, harmonious and powerful!
Earth Wind & Fire - Got to get you into my life
did not care for this movie, but this cover by EWF is fantastic!
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band...staring Peter Frampton and the Bee Gees...along with other stars of the 70s......Aerosmith, EWF, Billie Preston
Earth, Wind and Fire - Can't Hide Love
This song is totally Prophetic! Amazing!
Best intro and outro! Gotta luv them horns!
Earth Wind and Fire - Fantasy
Listen to Verdine on the bassline! He's really flowing
Earth Wind & Fire September in BRAZIL 1980
As far as tempo is concerned, a quicker tempo creates energy and excitement. Brazilians love their samba drums and complex rhythms...beautiful!
Earth, Wind & Fire - After The Love Has Gone
It's a great and elegant classic song, the voice of Maurice White always was excelent. Unforgettable. The whole audience stood and sang every song with them, tears falling down their faces..
