"Precious" Depeche Mode is probabaly their strongest single since the smash hit " Enjoy the silence." The lyrics are astounding and Gahans vocals are better then in many years. The keyboard sounds remind me allot of the Violator album and the drum sounds as well. The lyrics are quite personal and discuss Martin Gores current martial difficulties. It definitely sounds like he is speaking from his heart and the pain is almost to much to listen knowing personally how difficult relationships can truly be. The cover art is quite strange but not overly avant-garde. This is a stupendous single and I would not be surprised if this became a chart topping song in many countries and perhaps also in the US.
