I thought this album would sound mostly like their ep "The Baked Sale" or their mixtapes. But the beats sound very Mello and the lyrics sound much improved.
I loved Asher Roth's verse on "Roll Call" he absolutely posesses the best verse on this album, I actually think Asher Roth & Chuck English (1/2 of Cool Kids, the half that produces) share a great chemistry together somthing I notice on "Fat Raps Remix" from Big Sean's Finally Famous Vol. 3. But anyway the Cool Kids make feel good music & swag rap, and they do it with high efficency.
Chuck english is the third best rapper from detroit currently & one of the best producer/rappers out right now as he absolutely beast his own beats. Two best rappers from the "D" of course are Eminem (who's regressing) & Elzhi but Chuck deserves reconigtion most defenitely. The Cool Kids obvisously have the respect of their peers as Ghostface Killah(wu co-signs mean alot),
Pharrell (Star Trak co-signs mean alot too ask Big Sean OR Kelis) & Bun B appear on this album. "Penny Hardaway" is one of my favorite songs this year too, The beat sounds different from most of Chuck's past synth heavy beats & Ghost Kills his spot. Being from Chicago I thought that the group PROJECT MAYHEM, whom the cool kids work with were more deserving of the spot light but the Cool Kids hold their own and since the world sees them as a Chicago group I say they did the city proud.
Chuck english's persona is in the mold of raekwon circa 94' when everyone was stealing rae's style & swagger. He alone is the reason this album needs it's just due, listening to "Summer Jam" off this album thinking sky's the limit for both these young men if they keep maturing.
