new guitarist arrives as the old one leaves. And a band is reborn after an overdue break. Beginnings and endings. That's 'I'm With You', truly the beginning of a new era for the Red Chili Peppers. The 10th album of the Los Angeles band's singular career sees the band refreshed, renewed, once again working with producer Rick Rubin (their fifth partnership, including the last album, 2006's monster 'Stadium Arcadium' two-CD tour de force). It expands the same combination of funk and finesse, intensity and tenderness that's made the Peppers sine qua non in modern rock, but with a new set of life experiences from the intervening years that coalesced into a dynamically fresh start.
"I'm With You" by Red Hot Chili Peppers is still in the same great alternative rock vein that made the band very epic. "I'm With You" contains fantastic rock tracks that really encourage you to listen and make you think because of the interesting multi-layer meanings.
This is especially the case in two of my favorite tracks "Did I Let You Know" and "Dance, Dance, Dance. "Dance, Dance, Dance" is about relaxing and having a good time while doing it. "Did I Let You Know" is my overall favorite song and has some great instruments used in the song. "Did I Let You Know" is also a catchy musical track about being attracted to someone that has a fun-loving and carefree approach to life. "I'm With You" by Red Hot Chili Peppers is best to get if you love any of their songs.
Crank up the volume though if you want to catch the new guitar vibes, which are way more discreet but still very efficient. Gone are the insane Frusciante "in your face" solos, but Klinghoffer fits in perfectly in a way that let the core "drum and bass" business shine more than usual, if that is possible, which is great when a band count on one of the tightest and most diverse duos in rock history.
