This collection of songs for Rock N Roll Hall of Famers BLONDIE is as classic as Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits (1974) Areosmith's Greatest (1980) and so on!
This classic album features 4 US #1's, 4 UK top #10's and 4 US top #40 hits.
This album is also special because of 4 Special Mixes produced by longtime producer Mike Chapman available only on this disc.
Heart Of Glass (Special Mix) unlike it's single version this version is a combination of the 12" disco Instrumental and the original version.
Sunday Girl (Special Mix) Originally recorded in english and a french version this version follows the success of UK Hit Denis and switches to the french version half way through then back to english. In my opinon this adds to the wonderful melody.
In The Flesh (Special Mix) remixed to sound more like Phil Spctor's sixites wall - of - sound. Very Ronnie Spector-ish.
Rapture (Special Mix) This version re-edited from the 10 minute disco mix includes a rare third verse not available on the album or single verison.
Don't forget this also includes the Album Versions of Atomic, One Way Or Another, and The Tide Is High. All other collections contain the single mixes;
This band so ground breaking.
Blondie - Call Me
Loved the song the band, the everything... but.. as you may have noticed... there was never any official video for this song... it was a bunch of outtakes from other videos and a few scenes from the movie.. having said that... D. Harry in her day was as beautiful as any woman who ever lived... so lets just enjoy what a great band they were. :-)
Blondie - Heart of Glass
1979
Her music is as enjoyable today as it was when it was released. In other words, she has passed the test of time. A true test for any musical artist.
Blondie - Sunday Girl 1979
Debbie Harry was hands down the most beautiful rock singer ever. Just saw her a few hours ago in person before introducing a film at MoMA in New York, about two feet from me for quite a while, and she's still beautiful in 2011.
Blondie - Rapture (Live) - 1982
Influential in EARLY HIP HOP!
classic song and I've been a fan since 1979
This is the best and Blondie is the best
