Featuring virtually every Number 1 BEATLES single released in the USA and the UK between 1962 to 1970

The Beatles '1' recording release is a gem of an album. Available on vinyl, this release contains many of The Beatles #1 selling hits during their cumulative career, and is representative of some of their best work as musicians together. Although this release is compilation disc on several derived recordings, this release has chosen many of the more recognizable and popular Beatles' music.

The music ranges from early Beatles recordings (Love Me Do, I Wanna Hold Your Hand) to the 'A Hard Day's Night' era, to the more psychedelic era of Yellow Submarine. Also noted are the strong influences of John Lennon during their latter years, with nods to George, Ringo and Paul.

If any release were representative of The Beatles most notable efforts, this would be that release. While there are many unmentioned songs that could have supplemented this recording, most any Beatles follower will appreciate the songs that were included in this album

Unlike the Yellow Sub songtrack album, where the songs were remixed, sometimes with curious results, on 1 all you get is a remastered sound that brings out the crispness in guitar licks, thundering drum rolls and a deep, melodic bass. Just listen to Eight Days A Week for an example; unlike the version on Past Masters, you can really hear the rhythm guitar as if you are in the recording studio. In Penny Lane the trumpets have a great, majestic sound, framing heavenly flutes and precise vocals. In Come Together you can really hear the lead guitar
