After hearing my initial introduction of her vocals in " The Girl from Ipenema" , I became instantly infatuated with her singing. After hearing several more songs , I became instantly hooked. Labeled as the " Queen of Bossa Nova" , Gilberto Astrud transcends musical genres and captivates audiences from around the world. Astrud has influenced such reknowned artist as Sade and Sinead O'Connor. Not only is she an artist that has a captivating style that's so simplistically unforgettable....she has compiled a library of music that will influence musical generations in the future. This album is worth having in part just because of the Joao and Jobim tunes on it; I'd say that namely the aforementioned "Girl From Ipanema," "Agua De Beber" " So Nice" are the best Bossa Standards on this album. .... .
