B1 The Martinez Brothers - Where's Mr. Brown?

With a resume that already includes peak time sets in Ibiza, Berlin and NYC’s Shelter, the Bronx-bred duo The Martinez Brothers have been working dancefloors the world over like seasoned pros for a couple years now. We can’t believe they’re still only teenagers.

Though their modesty may hint otherwise, the pair are quietly and unassumingly the toast of the New York nu-school. This release finds them teaming up with Greek producer Argy on Dennis Ferrer’s Objektivity imprint (Ferrer has taken the brothers under his wing).

‘Debbie Downer’ smacks of a refined and mature ear, with a seamless blending of infectious deep house vocals imposed on a tribally-tech house frame.

On the flip, Bob Marley’s vocals echo against the hollow stripped-back chug of a late night train travelling across a darkened cityscape.

We would go so far as to say that these boys are slated for huge things during 2009, but we’ll attempt to let their music do the talking.

Are the Martinez Brothers the new Masters At Work?

718 Sessions 11/12/06, the Martinez brothers destroyed the dancefloor making the crowd scream in delight.

Dennis Ferrer @ Mazoom

Dennis Ferrer playing "Debbie Downer", great release by Argy & Martinez Bros. What a night!
