This LP has a totally different mix then the regular release! This plays fine on a regular turntable. This is like having a different album!

The queen of souls greatest years were clearly between 1968 - 1971. During this considerably short period of time she made some of the most remarkable music in history. Such distinguished soul classics like, RESPECT, CHAIN OF FOOLS and I SAY A LITTLE PRAYER remain as unique and popular as they were when origanlly recorded in this era. This lady has one of the most memroable, uplifting voices in music and its a shame that her work has never surpassed the quality of this period in recent times or enjoyed the commercial success of such other fabulous soul performers such as the divine, DIANA ROSS and WHITNEY HOUSTON. She will always be though the most definitive lady of soul and this collection is evidence of some of the sheer magic she cut during her time with Atalntic Records. Highly recommended!

This collection has all the greats from "Respect" "Baby I Love You" "Chain of Fools" "Think" along with her renditions of some greats, e.g. "I Say a Little Prayer"

" I Say A Little Prayer" perfectly reveals her unique vocal style.

From her 1967 album "I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You", Aretha Franklin performs the hit "Baby I Love You on the streets of New York! Ever thought you'd see the The Queen of Soul sangin' on the corner?

Aretha Franklin - Chain Of Fools

This concert is taken from a swedish tv broadcast when Aretha Franklin and her band visited Sweden back in 1968. They re-run the whole concert on swedish tv nine years ago. Fantastic concert.

Aretha Franklin - I Say A Little Prayer

The Cliff Richard Show" 1970.

The Aretha/backup singers juxtaposition seems to perfectly encapsulate that transitional moment in history.
The Queen and her "Sweet Inspirations" Carolyn, Erma (Franklin) and Cissy Houston man how they merge as one vocal unit on this gem.

Aretha Franklin - Don't Play That Song For Me ( LIVE)
Although she is justifiably known for her singing and phrasing, Franklin was/is also an underrated piano player and songwriter

Just no one touches this great wonder, and force of nature. She is truly annointed, and was destined to be the greatest soul singer of all time. She has everything :- Power, Timing, Grace, Spontaneity, Instinct and all this coupled with interpretation second to none. I have never seen anyone who can sing a song with the soul and conviction of Aretha Franklin and she truly stands out amongst her peers. Long live the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin.

Aretha Franklin - Respect ( Probably live in Sweden)
Best performance of this song ever.

You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman " from 1968, was one of Aretha's biggest hits of the sixties and some consider one of her "signature" songs. Here she performs it live and does a superb job as usual.
